Cosmetic Dentist Sydney

Dr Joseph Klar graduated from Sydney University in 1972 with honours.

He travelled extensively worldwide attending numerous courses on various aspects of Dentistry including orthodontics, Medicine and Anaesthetics, thereby gaining tremendous exposure essential to become a respected and effective cosmetic dentist. He was based in London from 1973 till 1975. During this time he completed studies in anaesthetics and sedation.

On his return in 1975 he joined a practice in Shirley House in Market St Sydney. He soon took over as principal of the practice. Generally an Orthodontist only does Orthodontics however Dr Klar practices most branches of General Dentistry so in most cases there is no need to refer patients outside our clinic. The practice moved to its present location at 44 Market St  in 1985.

Dr Klar is a Senior Instructor and a Fellow of The International Association for Orthodontics. He is one of a very few practitioners who is qualified to administer  Dental Sedation. He has completed the British Anaesthetics course in 1973(Society for Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry - SAAD). He has over thirty years experience in this field. He is fully approved by The Dental Board of NSW to practice IV Sedation.

Dr Klar is qualified in Dentofacial Orthopaedics and Orthodontics. This procedure not only rearranges teeth but improves the facial skeleton and profile. He has attended dozens of seminars and updates worldwide on this subject and he is a member of both The Australian Association of Orthopaedics and Orthodontics as well as The International Association of Orthodontics. He is a member of many Dental societies and study groups. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association. He is a Senior Instructor for the International Association for Orthodontics. He holds a Fellowship from the IAO.

In the past years Dr Klar has attended dozens of courses in every facet of Dentistry ensuring that his patients receive the optimum in care and techniques.

Dr Maria Avis graduated with honours from Sydney University.  She holds a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Restorative Dentistry from The University of Adelaide School of Dentistry. 

Dr Avis is currently functioning as our cosmetic dentist and has completed her mini-residency in Orthodontics and Dento-facial Orthopaedics. 

Dr Avis has completed courses for the administration of Botox and Filllers to enhance facial beauty.

She continuously attends post graduate educational programmes and is trained in the very latest in porcelain work (veneers, tooth coloured inserts for back teeth) and endodontics (root canal therapy). Dr Avis has a special interest in early treatment orthodontics.

Dr Csilla Kiss graduated from Sydney University. She holds a Bachelor of Dentistry  as well as a Bachelor of Science degree.

Dr Kiss has a particular interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and she is always up to date with the latest procedures in this field.

Dr Kiss is currently undertaking her advanced residency course in Orthodontics.

She is very caring towards patients and strives towards excellence.

Dr Brian Joffe graduated from The University of Witswaterand, Johannesburg in 1985.

He has over 25 years experience in General Dentistry. His special interest is in Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implants and Root Canal Therapy.

Brian relocated in 1996 to Auckland, New Zealand and had a successful practice there for over 15 years.

He relocated to Sydney in January, 2011 bringing a wealth of expertise to our practice.

Brian takes great pride and care in his work and often exceeds patients' expectations. He is very caring and is popular with all his patients.

Marilyn, Lisa, Chloe, Roi Ja, and Mya are our highly qualified and skilled chair-side assistants. They are caring and knowledgeable in all Dental Procedures, proving to be a great help in procedures conducted by the cosmetic dentist. They always have the patient's comfort and well being utmost in mind.
